Indiana Fever Offseason Moves And Expectations For The 2023 Season

Indiana Fever: Offseason Moves and Expectations for the 2023 Season

A New Era Begins in Indiana

The Indiana Fever are entering a new era in 2023, with a new head coach and several new faces on the roster. After a disappointing 2022 season that saw the team finish with a 5-29 record, the Fever have made some significant changes in hopes of turning things around.

New Head Coach and Coaching Staff

The Fever have hired Christie Sides as their new head coach. Sides spent the last four seasons as an assistant coach with the Las Vegas Aces, where she helped the team win the WNBA championship in 2022. Sides is a well-respected coach with a proven track record of success. She is known for her ability to develop players and get the most out of her teams. Sides has brought in a new coaching staff with her, including assistant coaches Tamika Catchings and Jessica Breland. Catchings is a former Fever player and WNBA legend, while Breland is a former WNBA All-Star. This new coaching staff brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the Fever.

New Players

The Fever have added several new players to their roster this offseason, including recent first-round draft pick Lexie Hull. Hull is a versatile forward who can play inside and out. She is a skilled scorer and rebounder, and she is expected to make an immediate impact for the Fever. Other new additions to the roster include forward Lauren Cox, guard Victoria Vivians, and center Emily Engstler. Cox is a former first-round draft pick who has shown flashes of potential. Vivians is a proven scorer who can provide a much-needed boost to the Fever's offense. Engstler is a young, talented center who has the potential to be a star in the WNBA.

Expectations for the 2023 Season

The Fever are hoping to make a significant improvement in 2023. With a new coach, a new coaching staff, and several new players, the Fever have the potential to be a competitive team. However, the Fever will need to improve their defense and rebounding in order to be successful. The Fever will open the 2023 season on May 19th at home against the Atlanta Dream.
